Rippin' off Redon

Trying out all the brushes on Painter with a Wacom - it's hard! You know, almost like REAL PAINTIN'! I think I overused the sponge tool. Well, it was fun anyway. And it was only like a 15-minute effort. Just thought I'd post something new!

Now that I look at it, that guy looks like a cross between Mike from Monsters, Inc. and Alfred E. Newman. Ohh well.

I basically imitated Symbolist painter Odilon Redon's "The Cyclops" (1914), as seen below. I wonder what kind of crazy stuff he'd come up with if he were alive today, using something digital like Painter?

Nice looking piece there.

I haven't tried painter out yet, but it looks pretty nice. Looks like you can get some good texture out of it.

Also, btw, I wanted to drop a line and say thanks for your comments on my blog waaaay back in october. I'm a terrible blogger, and just now realized I had to authorize comments. Sorry about that, I wasn't trying to be an ass.
